Lazy Bones

I love Sundays. Hm….no, it’s not that it’s Sunday, per se, but that it’s a quiet day. After running errands all week, the cooking, the laundry, the cleaning, the homework (some of which does escape me), it’s nice to enjoy the peace and quiet with a cup of coffee. The coffee is mandatory, as are PJs. After all, you want to be comfortable when the kids wake up, rooting around the refrigerator for breakfast. And that’s another thing: the kitchen is closed.

They will be waiting a loooooooooong time for me to call, too ๐Ÿ˜€

Kuhula is the New Southwest Airlines

Kulula is an African airline with its head office located in Johannesburg. Kulula Airlines attendants make an effort to make the in-flight safety lecture and announcements a bit more entertaining. Here are some real examples that have been heard or reported:

Courtesy of Casey Research

1. On a flight with a very “senior” flight attendant crew, the pilot said, “Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve reached cruising altitude and will be turning down the cabin lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance the appearance of your flight attendants.”

2. On landing, a stewardess said, “Please be sure to take all of your belongings. If you’re going to leave anything, please make sure it’s something we’d like to have.”

3. “There may be 50 ways to leave your lover, but there are only 4 ways out of this airplane.”

4. As the plane landed and was coming to a stop at Durban Airport , a lone voice came over the loudspeaker: “Whoa, big fella. Whoa!”

5. After a particularly rough landing during thunderstorms in the Karoo, a flight attendant announced, “Please take care when opening the overhead compartments because, after a landing like that, sure as hell everything has shifted.”

Sithy Challenge

I’m sure we are familiar with this stuff around the social networks, as well as our blogs. But I’m fairly new to having my own blog, so I thought I would challenge my friends in the interwebtubenets to do a challenge. Oh, nothing like the Letter a Month challenge I did at the start of the blog! Just a simple list of Ten Favorite Things. Here’s my list:

#1– Favorite candy: Chocolate. This is not news.

#2– Favorite movie: Casablanca.

#3– Favorite drink: Midori Sour. Mojito comes a close second. Very close. Some would say it’s a statistical tie.

#4– Favorite dessert: Creme Brulee.

#5– Favorite city: Venice. Even the slums were romantic.

#6– Favorite pasttime: Reading. There are 20 books by my side of the bed. Ten by the bathtub.

#7– Favorite clothing: Pajamas. No contest.

#8– Favorite animal: Owls tie with llamas. But in fairness, owls came first.

#9– Favorite flower: Calla lily.

#10 Favorite music: Classical ties with classic rock. Depends on the mood. And whether the kids are around.

So there you have it. Some of my favorite things. If you decide to participate in the challenge, do a list at your blog or at your favorite social site, and leave a link here in the comments ๐Ÿ˜€

Have fun!!

A Simple Question

My friend XbradTC over at Bring the Heat, Bring the Stupid brought up a very importantย question the other day. One that, in the greater scheme of things, falls between “sliced bread” and The Clapperโ„ข:

Is it Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner?

Or is it Breakfast, Dinner, Supper?

Admit it: you have to think about it now ๐Ÿ˜‰

Saturday Sithy

As usual, Saturdays are a bit busy for me, so I thought I would post a bit of fun.

And I would own each and every one ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a great Saturday!

Ah, Sunday…

You can be such a good friend to me.

But I know you….you are just lulling me into a sense of security, ready to yank that from under me with your pal, the dreaded nemesis, Monday. You sweet-talk me into “taking in easy” and “relaxing”, only to slap me back into reality when Monday strikes without warning.

But I can’t help it…I come back and fall under your spell every week, thinking it will be different this time. This time I will be strong, and resist the siren call.

Sigh….who am I kidding?

Maybe I should wear a helmet ๐Ÿ™‚

Crowning Glory

A while back Laura over at Fetch My Flying Monkeys was exclaiming about how absolutely awesome Bumble & Bumble hair products are. She was practically swooning, people. And as women are wont to do, when one recommends a product, that means you are in dire need of it. And my tresses were looking a bit tired, and forlorn, you know. They are practically dying (and yes, I do know hair is dead protein, but that is beside the point).

This is were I justify my actions, so no need to judge me.

Anyway, off I went to check out this miracle in a bottle. Alas, the cost is a bit prohibitive, especially when the new Trollbeads will be released on the 26th of this month, and Little One is hinting that she wants her very own bracelet for Christmas. She’s a Mini-Me, only pretty, and adorable, and sneaky. Anyway, as I was looking at the rest of the designer shampoos, I noticed that Organix was on sale, and decided to try it.

ZOMG!!! The change in my hair was palpable. My hair wasn’t frizzy or poofy, but had these pretty gentle waves to it, it didn’t “flyaway”, and felt sooooo soft!! And if something works, people, you have to get the whole system, right? So, I went and got the Argan Oil treatment, thinking it would be a bit too oily for me.

My tresses feel like spun silk from the Orient.

I’m a convert. I love the argan oil. This treatment has other ingredients, but hopefully in the future I will own a small bottle of the pure stuff. Perhaps my contact in the Middle East can acquire a stash of the stuff for me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sithy Funny

Well, I’m running late again around here, and trying to get the kids’ school stuff organized. Don’t y’all love it when a kid comes to you and asks you to buy them a book that they needed five minutes ago?

Yep, neither do I. So I shall leave you with a Sithy Funny to compensate for my lack of verbiage this morning.

Because y’all know how I feel about coffee ๐Ÿ˜‰
