Friday Sithy

Today I am having lunch with our internet friend, LC LtC. That means that I will be cleaning up the house in a futile attempt to impress, so I shall leave y’all with a Sithy.

I’m still laughing 😀

Guess Who I Would Invite to Dinner?

Well, not really a guess, but another list. This time it’s the Five People With Whom I Would Like to Have Dinnerâ„¢. Our blogger friend Yabu left a list at his blog, and this being a Sunday, I thought I would follow suit and post mine. It’s either that, or my latest scrapbook project. I figured y’all would like the list more.

Dead People:

  1. Nikola Tesla
  2. Winston Churchill
  3. Leonardo da Vinci
  4. William Shakespeare
  5. Marilyn Monroe

Living People:

  1. John Ringo (author)
  2. Chuck Norris (obvious)
  3. Sarah Palin
  4. Paul Simon
  5. Neil Gaiman

Bloggers:

  1. Laura
  2. Soylent Green
  3. The Glorious Lemur King
  4. Nurse Myra
  5. Bunk Strutts

Ok, now to explain a few things on my list. When I invite these people to my table, they have to bring their significant other if they have one, because in my opinion they help to define the person they are. So no, I wouldn’t just have the one person here. And as for the bloggers, I have met quite a few of you already, so my list was decidedly shorter than most. Also, I opted to not have big name bloggers on my list, mostly because the image versus reality thing would clash too much for me. We little bloggers are far more realistic 😉

If you decide to make a list, leave a link or list here, and also over by Bad Bad Juju!

Two Simple Questions

Would you rather have $20 million dollars, or live an extra 20 years?

And, why?

Reading List: The Gals Edition

It has come to my attention that I haven’t made a list of must-read blogs for a quiet Sunday.

Probably because my Sundays are never quiet.

Anyway, I would like to share with y’all some of my favorite gal bloggers, the ones that never fail to bring a smile or make me snort laughing.

Autumn People is a gem. Nicole has the gift to make you smile in any situation, not to mention she is a dream of a chef.

Another dream of a chef is Groovy Noms. The Nomstress is not only a fabu cook, but regales us with homeschooling stories, as well as the happenings of her crazy cat.

Over at Fetch My Flying Monkeys, which is rated PG-16, Laura “dreams” of being a government assassin. I put that in quotations because for all I know she might be one already.

Koch’s Tour is filled with wonderful anecdotes from the point of view of a mom to four daughters. I am one of four daughters, so I relate to her in many ways!

Last but not least, Maggie’s Notebook is a politically conservative site. Maggie gives you a rundown on all the happenings in the political scene, as well as bringing humorous anecdotes from across our daily lives.

Stay tuned for next week when we do the Guys Edition! 😉

Near and Far

A while back, my friend Roamy suggested places we’ve been as a topic for the blog, and it got me to thinking. It’s tough to beat being raised in a tropical island, you know. This is the river in back of my elementary school:

The schoolrooms were a converted cockfighting arena (true story), but the view was totally worth it! Growing up in Puerto Rico, I had the chance to see beaches, desert, rainforest, mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, all in the span of a day. It was wonderful.

Now that I am an Army wife, I get to see other places. Stationed in Europe, we got to see Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Crete, France, Austria, and Italy. Personally, I had no desire to see Holland or Belgium. But I did wish to see Spain, and where my relatives came from. Still, I got to see a lot, and if I had to pick my favorite of all, I would have to say Poland.

It was like a page from a fairytale. And in that fairytale, the bad guys had been vanquished. I hope I get the chance to go back, and drink some Żubrówka, eat pierogies, and hear wonderful stories about Boleslawiec.

And what places would y’all like to visit?

Open Thread Friday

My apologies for having not much to write about. Between having friends from out of town, especially the kind that convinces me into buying more Trollbeads, and getting school supply lists done, back-to-school clothes shopping for kids, and registration and transfers, I am finding nothing to report at Casa de Aggie. It’s a desert here.

My lawn, only not as pretty, or with suck a fantastic view

So, to my few readers I ask: are there any topics you would like me to write about? Feel free to make suggestions!!

And also, feel free to do a raindance or two 😉
