Today is the Twelfth Day of Christmas, and still no drummers drumming. Thank goodness, because I am taking down all the Christmas stuff today. Usually I wait until Epiphany to do so, but I have stuff going on tomorrow. Nothing like taking down lights while a cold front moves through to get you motivated to do it quickly.
I made some hot chocolate the other night with Ghirardelli, milk, and cream. I topped it off with one of these:
That’s right: Candy Cane Marshmallow Peeps, dipped in chocolate. DIVINE!!!
I hate the new “Related Pin” crap at Pinterest. Who the heck would think I would be interested in pickled Northern Pike?? I do like the blood orange margarita, though.
There is no end to laundry, ever.
I am a very patient person, except when waiting on packages from Amazon to arrive. Then I am stalking the mail carrier like a boss.
I made the mistake of wearing a red shirt when I went to TargetΒ©. That wasn’t as bad as being able to answer everybody’s questions, though.
And with that, hope y’all have a wonderful Sunday π

O.M.G. I missed those Peeps. I bet those are awesome in hot chocolate! I’ll have to try to remember to keep an eye out for them next year.

I still see some around here. They are FABULOUS!!

I would have walked around Target acting like I worked there, and then when someone came up to me with a question, act totally clueless.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
*takes notes* π

You mean like they normally do?
Aggie, did they offer you a job?
January 5th, 2014 at 8:47 PM
I wish they had! π

If you’re missing the racket of 12 drummers drumming, I have a 5-year-old I’m MORE than willing to donate to the cause.

Oh, and for the record, Serenity makes some AWESOME homemade marshmallows, including a peppermint flavored one. You’ll have to beg and grovel for a batch next year, though…she’s not big on patience or forgiving (overall) when people try to take advantage of her baking skillz and friendly offers.
January 5th, 2014 at 8:50 PM
If she offers, I am more than willing to eat some π
January 5th, 2014 at 8:49 PM
I ♥ your little one π
January 6th, 2014 at 7:08 PM
I’m packing her bag as we speak!
January 7th, 2014 at 7:51 AM
Right, like Serenity would EVER give her up π
January 7th, 2014 at 8:11 PM
…if you could hear the “conversation” going on between them right now, I think you might be able to persuade her.
January 5th, 2014 at 8:26 PM
hmmmm …. red shirt at Target? Does that mean one of the said “red shirt” employees has to die at the end of every shift*?? (And good luck on your part for not dying either!!)
*You did get the Star Trek reference, did you?*

“Who the heck would think I would be interested in pickled Northern Pike??”
Hey, watch it, lady. That’s the traditional Thanksgiving dinner for many people in northern Minnesota. π
January 6th, 2014 at 6:55 AM
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
So many Puerto Ricans live there, too π
January 6th, 2014 at 2:19 PM
Eating pickled Northern Pike for Thanksgiving. I wonder if there is any correlation between consumption of that dish and the inability to realize, “hey, it’s gonna get colder than a mother-in-law’s kiss pretty soon, I’d better head south where it ain’t so damn cold.”
No wonder you guys have a group known as Minnesotans4globalwarming.

“Nothing like taking down lights while a cold front moves through to get you motivated to do it quickly.” That would motivate me not to put up any in the first place. Bah! Humbug! π
January 6th, 2014 at 4:57 PM
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! In defense, Hubby insisted, so I insisted he be the one to take it down π

Get the plastic clips that attach the bulbs to your roof shingles. When you’re ready to take them down, you just grab one end and give it a good yank.
….then go buy a lot of replacement bulbs. But the strands come down in one heckuva hurry!
(in my defense….I only broke two bulbs this way)

Well, we don’t put up lights on the house, just the tree outside. So he used zip ties. Seemed to work, and no bulbs died so he has that going for him π
