I live in the South. We get maybe two weeks of “cold” weather. And by “cold” I mean mid to high 40s.
For those of you who think I am a silly whiner, keep in mind we tend to be Sun’s next door neighbor for about eight months, and do quite enjoy 98* F in the shade. So there.
Anyway, we are in the middle of a winter storm which has brought ice and snow to the northern part of my fair state, and is pushing it THIS WAY. Have I mentioned I hate cold weather? Because I do. But the worst part? Possible school cancellation.
I don’t think I could deal well with that.
I suppose that the worst part about cold weather for me stems from my inability to sleep well when I am not warm enough. Usually I have to have a sheet, blanket, and not one but TWO down throws on my side of the bed. Hubby is a human furnace so he eschews all the down and the comforter as well. You would think that because he is so warm that I would be warm as well. But no. I need the piles of linens. If I am too cold I get nightmares, such as the one I had last night where I was walking through a park, wearing a cape and using a walking stick, and came upon some polar bears who were on vacation from the Arctic and yelled that I was encroaching on their vacation spot so they decided to have some Puerto Rican food because I was so stupid as to try to pet the alpha male. Thankfully I woke up right then.
So for my friends near and far, keep warm and stay safe. And don’t forget to get milk and eggs 😉

I saw the reports for that storm, and thought “Oh, Aggie is not going to be happy!” Stay safe, darling.

I’m staying on this side of town for sure 😀

You should limit your stay up here to sometime between May and September, to be safe. As many days as you can, to be sure, as long as you like. But I don’t think you would like it in, say, December…
Greenfield Village is also awesome in early Summer.

December is out if you’re above the mason-Dixon line 😀

A dream where Aggie is walking through a park wearing nothing but a cape….dang….you have those dreams too?!?

Aggie, per chance did you eat some spicy food last night just before bed? That’s when I have weird-ass dreams. Although, unlike RA, I have never dreamed of you walking through a park wearing nothing but a cape… but I’d be willing to try.
We got a light coating of ice, followed by a shit load of sleet, followed by about an inch of snow. And, since I was born and raised in southern NM, I don’t like this cold white shit, either.
Stay warm. Stay safe. I’m going to hibernate until it gets above freezing.

No, had Puerto Rican food, not spicy at all. So I can’t blame it 😀

Already been out twice today on errands (ran the dogs to the vet for shots and meds this morning, then dropped them off at home before hitting the donut shop…no way I’m driving on icy roads and trying to fend off hungry beagles!). Gonna head out again here in a few for another errand. As I expected, roads are worse today than yesterday, as all of yesterday’s icemelt is now ice again (its 19*F outside). On a brighter note, the shopping center where the donut shop is located has a nice, wide, extremely empty and insanely icy parking lot. Hehehehehehe….much fun!!!

So, donuts of the road and edible varieties? AWESOME!!

of course! The karmic universe smiles upon that sort of irony.

It’s Saturday and got up into the mid-80’s today. Florida rawkz, ‘cept for all of the damned Yankees who visited and won’t go back home.

Had the same problem when I lived out in Phoenix… except they usually went back to Yankeeland for the summers.

Yeah, have to take the good with the awful 😉

-3 right now, – 18 Wednesday night. With winds bringing it down to -25-30. We usually don’t get that kind of weather until mid January. Still, we generally have at least one – 40 night every winter.

Does. Not. Compute.
You need to move to Texas. SOUTH Texas 😉
