This week I am hosting the Glorious Lemur King and his family, so I am not blogging as usual. But some of y’all may be wondering what we have done, so….

And today we shall be going here:
NATURAL BRIDGE CAVERNS
And after that, we shall tour the Alamo and the Riverwalk.
And after that, we shall rest. Maybe. I’m a bit fuzzy right now.
Anyway, hope to be back here soon. I’m off to go gawk at the new electric smoker the Lemurs have been kind enough to gift us. Ta ta for now!! 😀

We are, we are. Eldest was the perfect host.
It was so much more humider than we thought – we were told the humidity in the caverns was quite high but it was actually like a million percent.

I got out of the Bat Cave and begged Eldest… “Wipes… WIPES! There is bat poo all over my hands!”
The Lemur Family has never had such kind and gracious hosts, ever. I feel unworthy.
I would like to think the smoker and smoked pork has in some way made a thank you worthy of our kind hosts.
Still sleeping with an eye open juuuuust in case.

Uh, yeah. On the way back from today’s tour we saw the vehicle’s thermometer (the in-dash thing where the red button pops out when it gets up to temp) and it was 108. I am just now starting to get used to it and then we will go home.

Also, the humidity hasn’t been as awful as Michigan’s has been recently, so there is that.

They have been taking care to hydrate themselves well. Still, gazillion humidity in the caverns was indescribable 😀

I was amazed. Eldest said 70 degrees at 99% humidity would be pretty harsh. Being from Oregon I thought it was not going to be a big deal but I was wrong. It was actually a relief to come out into 100+ temps to cool off.
I now will take heed even if Eldest says “Watch out for pink elephants with green spots.”

Yeah. The green spotted ones are the worst. Although, with the right seasonings, they do make a decent ‘wurst. Just beware the Brit who turns it into a spotted dick. Those things are just wrong!
