I’m sure y’all remember the amazing transformation I did to Eldest’s room. If you don’t, go ahead and click on the link. I’ll wait.
*waits a few minutes for the awesomeness to sink in*
Amazing, isn’t it? Well, she has done a great job of keeping things pretty organized. So far. But now it’s time to do something special for Little One. And that will NOT be a picnic.
My youngest daughter has very specific tastes. Very…. interesting tastes. Anyone who smiles while watching Rear Window or The Birds has interesting tastes. That’s what I call it, anyway. What can I say? She’s a chip off the old block(head). Thankfully, her room is painted, and she wants to keep the furniture and drapes. So not a lot to do, really. But one of the things she wants in her room is a reading nook: her own chair, her own chandelier (I did say chip off the old block, and meant ME, you know), vanity area, etc. She’s growing up, and wants to make sure WE know it.
I don’t think I’m ready for that.
But she is. She is just a bit…. stubborn when it comes to getting rid of certain things. So today we will be rearranging her things and moving stuff around. The screaming will be epic. But I am sure she has ear plugs for that π

Wow. I have trouble painting a frickin wall, much less coordinating eclectic debris into an artistic event. Kudos.

I find painting to be therapeutic. It’s almost like pins in a voodoo doll.
Almost π

I’m on it!

I think I like the youngest’s personality… Smiling while watching The Birds is… unusual. Good with sarcasm, too?

Expert level achieved at 7 months of age, LK.

Good, good… I am happy for you. Nothing is as precious as a sarcastic child. Right? Right?

Keep telling yourself that. Let me know how it works for you π

And stubborn, as in “packus ratticus” is Lemurita, too. I feel your pain. Acutely and chronically.

It’s our fate… our penance… our hades π

Perchance, when you were kids, did you parents utter the curse, “When you grow up, I hope you have kids just like you”? Are your parents laughing their heads off now?
June 22nd, 2013 at 11:10 AM
Well, they did, but it was a blessing, not a curse. I was a GREAT KID!! So there π

Shut it π

That she could sit through “Rear Window” shows a remarkable level of patience in one so young. She will do well in the revenge business–despite what Inigo Montoya says.
My youngest, on the other hand, thinks “They Live” is the most awesomest movie in forever. I don’t know what that portends.
June 24th, 2013 at 10:58 AM
Little One LOVES John Carpenter. I am afraid… π
June 24th, 2013 at 10:52 AM
We are up to do the same. She wants blue, pink and Hello Kitty! So got the wall color picked out that’s as far as I’ve gotten. LOL Good luck!
June 24th, 2013 at 10:59 AM
How cute! She is so adorable π
June 24th, 2013 at 11:25 AM
Yeah….she is….until she gets sleepy and hits her expiration date whilst stuck in the BACK of Cabelas. Why we can’t get a meltdown when there’s a convenient exit no more than a dozen steps away, I don’t know.
We’ll be starting her room soon, we just haven’t worked out the precise pattern of camouflage for the walls, and whether to include concertina wire and claymores around just the windows, or the entire room. I’ve already got the pungi-stick pit dug and ready just outside and below her window. So we’re slowly coming along.
June 24th, 2013 at 12:52 PM
If you got a convenient meltdown, you wouldn’t be parents π
Also, good planning on that room. Concertina around the room, but claymore at the windows. Less to replace. Oh, and add some bars, for that prisony look.

Excellent taste those kids have. π

Well, they do take after you and Laura π
