I am a traditional gal. I am an Aggie, which doubles down on the whole traditions thing. But at Casa de Aggie, it isn’t just good enough to have traditions. One must also observe historical accuracy while celebrating a tradition.
Little One: Are we having turkey for Thanksgiving this year?
Me: Is this a trick question?
Little One: Well, the original Thanksgiving didn’t have a turkey dinner.
Me: True…. Are you saying that you would prefer fish and lobster and squash and corn and beans to the turkey dinner??
Little One: No, just the lobster.
Me: Fat chance, kiddo.
Little One: It was worth a shot.
It never fails to amaze me how wily they can be. It’s a full time job just to keep ahead in the game 😉

Mmmmmmmm….Thanksgiving lobster. I could almost go for that, except for the fact that lobster doesn’t really go with buckets of gravy. Maybe as a side dish?

Buckets of butter, then??

Hmmmmm….I think I’m still siding with the gravy thing on this. Maybe we can institute lobster as a BlackFriday tradition?

If by “Black Friday” you mean hiding out from the shopping madness, then that would work 😀

Fortified by the traditions usually found during this particular holiday: Wild Turkey and Black Label.

We’re doing “Thanksgiving Tamales”. There’s beef and turkey in the fridge, masa on the counter, and lard and corn husks in the pantry. It’ll be epic.

Turkey tamales?? 😯

I’m intrigued. Continue talking.

One Thanksgiving in my youth I remember my family doing all seafood, mostly crab and lobster. It was wonderful, but we ended missing out on one critical part of Thanksgiving tradition – the leftovers. There were absolutely none to be had.

And that would also follow here 😉

Lobster…. yummy! Now I have a craving!

Just don’t skip the turkey 😉

Had a bit… it’s not my favorite part of the meal. I like the creamed corn, stuffing, gravy, rolls, carbs!
