My taste in music is very catholic. Not as in the religion, but varied. I am a big fan of Big Band and Jazz, Rockabilly, Classic Rock, Technopop, Disco (Shut it!), and even Country music. Took me a while, but I have learned to appreciate it.
I draw the line at “Screamo” and Grunge and Rap, though.
Anyway, as I was driving back home from dropping off Son at school, I switched to the classic rock station. Ordinarily, I don’t pay much attention to it. I just let it slide over me and that’s about it. Sometimes though, one song comes on and gives me a slight chill as it permeates my consciousness.
I heard Michael Anthony at the keyboards and my heart started to fly.
Now, I can’t abide Sammy Hagar. I just…his voice gets on my nerves. But I can’t think of anyone else doing it justice.
Hope y’all find your inspiration to fly today!! 🙂

Not a Pearl Jam fan, then, eh?
Sammy is a good rocker, he’s just not Van Halen. His I Can’t Drive 55 concert is still one of the best I’ve ever seen. He’s right up there with Roger Water’s The Wall tour.

I liked both incarnations of Van Halen, just had to accept they were essentially different bands doing different music. But they did finally jump the shark after Sammy left and Gary Cherone took over. Nothing against the guy, he was great with Extreme, but totally out of place for VH.
Not exactly sure what you mean by screamo. I’ll do grunge, but stop short of rap. And 99% of today’s popular music is crap to my ears.
My favorite inspirational flying song? Pink Floyd’s “Learning To Fly”.

I am ok with Sammy, as long as I don’t have to see him!

Glad you picked the Skyhawk version, and not the Hornet version.
Good girl!

I am a big fan of . . . Jazz,
That really should go without saying.

amazing video!

Love that tune. And the video too. I don’t mind Sammy, but David Lee Roth will always be the true front man for VH.

Try Cobham.

Dreams was a great song. Haven’t heard it in years. I am a Sammy fan, though. David Lee Roth always struck me as slimy. But I do like both eras of Van H—–. 🙂

Yeap, they are flying A4 Skyhawks. This was before they moved up to the F*s. I have a great VHS film I shot when they were in Tennessee before they swapped planes. Flying Skyhawks.
I think Eddie is a GREAT guiter player, but I really don’t care for the rest of ’em, but I do loves me some Blue Angels. Went and saw ’em again last year…AWESOME again. These guys and gals are tight. I realize they do these shows to help with recruiting, but they can reconfigure, and paint them, for combat, in less than a day. They’re ready to rock, if you get my drift.
