Oy, what a way to start the day. We had plans to attend the annual dorm picnic today, only to find out Little One has a project due tomorrow and is having a friend over to help. Then my mother-in-law called us to offer her tickets to a shindig up north of Austin this evening, but it being a school night, we had to decline. And just when I start adjusting to new plans, the other kids pipe in with more stuff.
My glass was looking half empty. And then I saw this:
Wisdom from my friend Deb. Sometimes I forget how to be glad and happy for what I do have. Of course, some would argue that a half full or half empty glass means that there’s a bartender somewhere needing to fill it, but I’m willing to just be happy with the contents left in it š

Paper cup, pewter, styrofoam – seems to vary day by day. As long as they can hold Red Bull, coffee, and tonic water, I’m ok.
Or were you referring to the metaphorical stuff again? That and sarcasm… damn. Always miss that.
I try to keep things like this in mind when my environment is stuffed half full of loons. Those people may be loons but they chose to be there and I’m not alone, so that is something. Maybe my family shouldn’t be lumped into that assessment? It’s more flattering so I’ll keep them there.

Metaphorical, or literal. Both seem to work š

I like that saying.

Half empty, half full…has been driving me crazy for years. Let me know when you figure it out. Thanks…

I hear you on that one. I am always too fast to whine about stuff I don’t have, but when I sit back and look at my life; I have it made. I am a very lucky s.o.b.
