Well, Hubby has been back almost a whole week. As expected, the euphoria is starting to recede a bit in favor of the mundane. That always happens. The trick is to make the mundane fun.
I’m talking about home improvements, people.
I am ashamed to say that my patio looks like a tornado hit it. Today I am enlisting Hubby’s help in cleaning and repairing stuff, as well as helping me get some pretty flowers for the pots outside. Right now he is having fun playing a videogame keeping busy, but sadly, his relaxation is coming to an unfortunate end.
YAY!!! Petunias!! I love them, and they love Texas heat. Hopefully they will come back the way the ones from last year did. Those are in the front sidewalk, and are doing very well. With my luck, Hubby will want to get something more exotic. He always tries to push the bounds of my black thumb π

A week? Wow. When I got back from my last deployment, my wife’s euphoria (if you could call it that) only lasted until we got to baggage claim.
Enjoy the home improvements. Don’t work hubby too hard. π

Actually, he opted out of patio cleaning, so he’s rather relaxing today π

Yeah, they would need to be sheltered out there!

Petunias aren’t going to help you with the motherlode of purses and shoes in that closet are they, hmmm?

I loves me some pretty flowers, no matter what they are.

For other Texicans wanting color, try Gazanias, bright yellow flowers from South Africa. They are easy to plant, spread out, need little care and the annoying ruminants show no interest in them. They made it through several Hill Country freezes and came back thicker and more vibrant. Damned deer have destroyed nearly everything else. If only they were dogs, I could eat ’em!
