Sometimes my titles are a bit misleading. Actually, most of the time. But this one is pretty literal. This is one of my favorite pots, a gift from Hubby for Valentine’s Day long ago.
I love my Le Creuset™ pots. I own only three, but use them regularly. Just last night I made beer-braised beef in my 5 quart Dutch oven. This one I use for small casseroles and rice dishes. And of course, the 3 quart is for everything. I’m finding that I prefer cooking in porcelain cast iron far more than non-stick. And let’s face it: the color is far prettier than the dull charcoal of most non-stick pots and pans. It makes me happy to cook in a pretty pot, and if Momma is happy, she tends not to burn anything 😉

I like my porcelain cast iron, too. Mine is a Wally World special, though. Seems to work well.
Long slow cooking tends to be done on a smoker with me. Don’t do much braising. I should try it, since I love cooking with beer.

Beer-braised beef? Damn, I had cereal. Guess I should have gone to your house for dinner.

Door’s always open!
And shotgun’s always loaded 😉

Mine is not a LeCreuset either, but I love it just the same…. but if I am totally honest- a “real’ one would be a great birthday gift (Pirate Redbeard, are you reading?) 🙂 Love IS the most important ingredient!

You know they have an outlet store, right? RIGHT?? 😀

If Momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.

You saw it first hand! 🙂

That is such a kick butt pot. My Mom gave me a Le Creuset™ piece and it’s a superior pot to cook in. That stuff will last forever if properly taken care of.

I was at the mall today and walked into Sur La Table and ZOMG!! They had a TON of them.
Hubby had to restrain me 😀

I’m all the way downtown with Le Creuset. This post made me count mine. I have fourteen of ’em, pots and skillets of all sizes and colors. I really don’t use anything else. Porcelain Cast Iron is the Catdaddy. Fact.
Seriously, I have the whole color spectrum. How I acquired them is an interesting story. I also have some with wooden handles, which are very cool. No pun intended.
We do a lot of cooking in the House of Juju.

I LOVE my Le Creuset babies! (Red, natch)
Even though I don’t cook as much as I used to, I still love getting new ones from time to time.
And I make Mr. TiFW stop at the Outlet Mall on I-35 whenever we visit his family, just to see if there is anything there that I can’t live without (the answer is always “Yes”….).
I hope my children appreciate the things I am acquiring for them…..
