I hate this time of year: Daylight Savings Time. Last night I reset all the clocks for which I am responsible and wondered why it is that most states still adhere to such an antiquated policy. Arizona seems to cope quite well without it. So do a lot of other countries.
And it never fails…. any important change inevitably brings on anxiety, for no reason. So, last night as I settled into bed, feeling sleep overcome me, only to wake up suddenly. And stayed up until 4 AM.
So, not only do I fall asleep at 4 PM after the time changed, I had to get up at 7 AM to tend to the dog, which necessitated another pot of coffee. Three hours of sleep does not make for a nice Aggie. It doesn’t make for a pretty one, either, but that’s why I have Mary Kayβ’.
And as I sit here in the peace and quiet before everyone wakes up, my only thought is how to go about making a Daylight Savings voodoo doll. I could make a killing with that π

Personally, I wouldn’t mind a second time change for June-September. I don’t really care that the sun’s up at five in the morning, but I wouldn’t mind more sunshine later into teh evening.
Of course, I get what you’re getting at with the blanket thing. Think aboot it though, if it weren’t for arbitrary changes to meaningless things just for teh sake of changing them, ordinary people would never know what it’s like in the military!

Completely agree. I hate the seasonal time change. I get to go in to work in the light for a couple weeks and then bam! – back in the dark. Sigh.

Aggie, this is off topic, but you have to go check this out.
You just have to.

Daylight Saving Time screws with humans, but not dogs. My dog Stretch was born in DST, and he has never adjusted. Good for him, but I’m playing catch-up. No big deal,,,happens every year.

I never changed the clock in our living room last fall, so I didn’t have to re-set it yesterday. π
And really, they should do the change on a Friday night, so people have the whole weekend to adjust.

Aggie,
why am I being moderated? I don’t think I posted anything inappropriate. If I did, I apologize. Humbly.

I usually hate DST until about mid-April. By then it’s light out when I go running in the morning. Until then, I feel like I’m out there way too early.
