I figure a new calendar would have been on the Aztec’s to do list, had their empire survived the 19th century, much less the 16th. I can put off stuff that’s due next week. Bet they’d have been quite comfortable putting off a new calendar, since the one they had in 1520 would last longer than their entire civilization had to that point. Cortez changed their priorities.
