I got my canisters a few days ago, but had not gotten around to displaying them. Why? Mostly because I was out of sugar and flour, and was NOT going to put them on the counter for display purposes only! So, after a run to the grocery store, I unpacked, washed and dried, and place dry goods inside my beloved canisters.
And yes, I do cluster them like this. Makes more sense to me than to line them up against the wall like they are about to be executed. In the back you have Coffee (with measuring spoon), Flour, and Sugar. In the front you have….. ok, I have no clue what to put in the short canister yet, but the mini one is for my French Sea Salt. That little pot goes by my stove, but I added it to the tableau for effect.
I’m an artiste that way 😉

Tea Bags in the smaller container. Not your one cup version, but the family size so you can make good ol’ southern sweet tea!

In Nebraska you can buy liquor in the c-stores…… why is TX so backward about that? BTW… love the canisters!

I think it’s a vestigial law, Quenn Bee. We can buy beer and wine, but no hard liquor, except at military bases.
I would go to the Class Six on base, but I know for a fact they don’t carry this chocolate vodka. It’s horrible, I tell you 😀

Nice! I’m glad you’re enjoying them. Mom & I both really like our sets too. I have oatmeal in my short container. The salt pot would probably be good for storing loose-leaf tea too.
*Eyeballs my tin tea containers* Hmmmmmmm.

Tin tea containers??? I thought you had those lovely cherry bark ones from Teavana.
Just like I do 😉

Yeah, but I’ve only got one of those so far. All the rest of my tea is in the tin ones. Obviously I need to start upgrading. Oh, and all this reminded me to go order some stuff from Shang Tea. 80 bucks later…

I still have the canisters that were a wedding gift. I should update, they are showing wear and tear.

Nice cannisters, Aggie. Are they stoneware? Hand thrown or mass produced? (My mother is a potter, amongst other things, with a BA in fine art, has her own wheel and kiln).

These are hand thrown and hail from Crosby and Taylor:

Well, I like the counter/backsplash. Upgrades in process at twc central in that area, so caught my eye. The cannister set’s nice, too. 🙂

Referancing a Discussion with my Grandmother in the sixties on the occassion of her first trip to KMart! Flour then sugar then Coffee, then Tea…” what about the one with No lid?” I asked…She smiled I’ll put my teeth in that one!
