Heh. I used to have a .jpg somewhere, it was a cartoon titled “Fall in Texas”. Showed a tree with some spectacular orange/red/gold leaves….and several cans of similarly-colored spraypaint scattered around below the tree.
The oak in our back yard, I swear, goes from green to Fall to bare branches in something like twenty minutes.

That pic sounds hilarious

We have been a few times. Unfortunately, the fire last year did some damage, and the trees need some time to get back to their splendor

That’s about as close as we’ll get up here in MO, too, this year. Things are just brown.

I’m fighting to keep things somewhat hay-colored

The drought last year spawned a very bad series of wildfires, the area most devastated was around Bastrop, but Lost Maples got hit, too.

We have Fall colors! Just need imagination to perceive the subtle shades.
One of my favorite Fall stimulants is the smell of wood smoke. Or it was before last year.

Yeah, fall smoke makes me nervous now!
